Penelope Cruz! Totally Captivating Very different Interesting, engrossing
Oooh the tits and not a lot else. Escapism in escapism. Absorbing but needed lighter editing.
Unusual and very enjoyable: I love foreign films.
A confusing film – but that didn’t matter. Who’d be a mistress?
The story lacked the vitality of Volver but it was still dramatic, beautifully shot and a stunning film.
Cruz, as ever in her own language, is breathtaking.
I’d need to see it again to pick up the loose threads. Most enjoyable.
Disappointing ending, too many coincidences, too many loose ends tied up. Life’s not like that.
Love the music, the tragedy, the humour and the sex! She is so beautiful!
Hitchcock meets Blow-Up, updated for the 21st century.
Usual earthy Almodovar – good.
This is the second time I’ve seen it and it’s as atmospheric as ever. Almodovar never fails.
Brilliant! I loved the acting, photography and storyline. Superb, I could watch it again.
Too much movie – making flashback. Too artful: the art is to hide the art.
A thoroughly engaging collection of events that critique the nature of art, obsession and cinema. Good stuff.
Typical Almodovar. Boring – tedious – pointless.
Endless complexity of films within films and funny in parts but not as significant as his earlier films.
Terrible ending – slow – badly paced – not very exciting – poor script.
Too long. An over indulgence on the part of Pedro Almodovar.
Couldn’t read the subtitles (too low) so hadn’t a clue – waste of an evening.
Think it was a good film but couldn’t see the subtitles.
Couldn’t see/read the subtitles.
Pity sitting at the back, couldn’t read the subtitles. Confused by the film but it was enjoyable. Too many flashbacks.
If only I were tall enough to read the subtitles throughout.
In spite of constantly being irritated by the obvious visual trickery, the two hours flew by.
Really absorbing for the first hour and a half.
Too long but always worth watching. Long and self-indulgent.
Long but not boring. A bit long and self-indulgent but very enjoyable.
Apart from being an hour and a half too long, it was very good and well-acted.
Cancel that holiday in the USA! Book me Madrid with a Hasselblad!
He does have a thing about mothers.
A good film at last.
the next film will be Four minutes on October 21st. at Durweston Village Hall.
